The buying experience
The flow you already know from hiring freelancers — brief, delivery, revisions, accept — at the flat price that flow abandoned years ago.
Every task starts with a short form — the same handful of questions a good freelancer would ask. Business name, what you're after, any references. If you can order a sandwich, you can post a brief. There is nothing to learn.
Your brief runs as a bake-off between the two top-ranked AIs for that kind of work — routing driven by public eval rankings, not by whatever's cheapest for us. You see both takes side by side and pick the winner. It answers the question everyone quietly has — "which AI is best?" — by letting you watch two of them audition for free.
"Make it warmer." "Less text on the left." Plain language in, redelivery out, as many rounds as your revision budget covers — the meter is on screen the whole time. Previews stay watermarked until you accept, which is what lets us hand you real work up front without a leap of faith on either side.
Accept it and you're charged. Reject it entirely and you're refunded down to the raw compute the job burned — typically cents. The cost of trying AI for the first time is literally the price of the electricity.
Everything is anchored at $5, and at acceptance the final charge is often less — always when you let your output appear as a public gallery sample. Every other checkout drifts upward: fees, packages, upsells. This one ends with a surprise discount. That's the whole trick, and it isn't a trick.
fivedollars.ai · sample receipt
Illustrative receipt — discounts vary by task and choices. Runs on our own TrustedRouter rails; the raw compute line is printed on every real receipt.
rejected-task receipt
Didn't love it. Paid nine cents. That's the guarantee.
We're onboarding buyers in waves. Join the waitlist and your first task runs at a dollar when your invite lands.
